You know, I spend an ample amount of time balancing living my life, and reflecting upon how I am living it..
Sitting down this morning over coffee, I asked myself again, “𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑑𝑜 𝐼 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑚𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒” –
This is what I wrote.
And what I find works for me is to make sure I don’t only spend time in reflection, but also in living..
Live. Reflect. Live. Reflect.
It’s all one in the same, but produces different results in life.
I want my life to continue to be about…
Serving people to my best abilities
Helping other people see their greatness
Creating space that allows others to see what I see in them
Changing how my self created fears impact myself and others
𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.
An adventure full of curiosity, opportunities to learn, the sites I see, and mostly, the wonderful people I meet.
I want my life to be open to possibility and not stuck in a battle of reality vs expectations.
I want my life to be about humor and humility
A willingness to laugh at myself, like I do now when learning to dance
A willingness to be wrong and openly say so
A willingness to forever be a beginner in the never ending evolution of life and humanity
I want my life to be about exploring all this world and the human race has to offer.
Be it through travel.
Be it through falling in love
Be it through my coaching practice
Be it through the books I read
Be it through the causes I support
We have so much to offer one another…
And I believe I’m just scratching the surface of the profoundness of that statement.
I want my life to be prosperous through what I create and how I serve
I want my prosperity to be shared to causes and people in need
To be prosperous, in my opinion, is both an internal and external concept.
To be prosperous externally can mean without limit to have what you want in the form of materials, travel, and the like.
Yet, to be prosperous internally, allows you to both enjoy those external possessions and experiences –
While being able to share and create prosperity for others around you.
I want my life to always be about how I am showing up for myself and the people I encounter.
Showing up in a way that is grounded in being compassionate, curious, grateful, caring, and patient.
The focus on self and other people both of equal importance to me.
Because how can I truly give to another, if I can not give to myself?
We all, whether we realize it or not, want love.
To be loved.
To be appreciated, to some degree.
To be wanted, by a partner, a family, a community.
While I too, want that, I want it as a result of the person I’m being, not because I expect people to be a certain way towards me.
And as I continue to age in this, one day to no longer exist body…
I want to continue to appreciate the lessons I have learned, the people I have met…
And mostly, the difference I made while I was here.
To me, personally, why I am here, is to leave this place better than I found it.
Whether I am successful in that endeavor is debatable, but that doesn’t change my willingness to commit to it.
And as I take my final breaths, I will think back over the course of my life and see and know..
That while I stumbled around for many years lost in my own suffering
I spent the vast majority of my life focused on what I find and consider to be, a life well lived.
That’s the life story that I aim to create.
